Where is ONAIE based?
We are based in London, United Kingdom
How long should you keep slippers?
The lifespan of your slippers depends on how often they’re worn and how well they’re cared for. Onaie slippers are made from high-quality natural materials and, with proper care, can last for several years. We recommend replacing your slippers when they no longer provide adequate comfort or support, or if the soles show signs of significant wear. For your peace of mind, all Onaie slippers come with a 6-month warranty.
Should slippers be loose?
Slippers should not be too loose, as this can cause them to slip off your feet and may lead to discomfort or instability when walking. Onaie slippers are designed to fit snugly at first, especially those made from natural materials like sheepskin, which will gently stretch and mould to your feet over time. A well-fitting slipper should feel secure yet comfortable, offering support without being tight.
Should slippers be tight or loose?
Slippers should feel snug but not tight when you first try them on. Onaie slippers, particularly those made from sheepskin, will naturally soften and mould to the shape of your feet with wear. A close fit ensures they stay securely on your feet without slipping, while still allowing room for comfort. If your slippers feel overly tight or restrictive, it’s best to try the next size up for a more relaxed fit.
Should sheepskin slippers be a size bigger?
Onaie sheepskin slippers are designed to gently mould to the shape of your feet over time, so we recommend choosing your standard shoe size for the best fit. If you are between sizes, it’s advisable to size up for added comfort. For detailed guidance, please refer to our size guide here:Onaie Size Guide
Should i wear slippers with socks?
Whether or not to wear socks with your slippers is entirely down to personal preference. Onaie slippers are made from natural materials like sheepskin and wool, which are soft against the skin and help regulate temperature, keeping your feet warm in winter and cool in summer, even without socks. However, if you prefer an extra layer or wish to keep your slippers fresher for longer, wearing socks is a perfectly good option too.
Are sheepskin slippers good for me?
Yes, Onaie sheepskin slippers are a wonderful choice for your feet. Crafted from natural sheepskin, they are breathable, helping to regulate temperature and keep your feet comfortable all year round. Sheepskin is also naturally hypoallergenic and gentle on the skin, making our slippers suitable even for those with sensitivities. The soft, cushioned design offers everyday comfort and support, making them both a practical and luxurious choice for indoor wear.
Should i wear slippers at home?
Wearing slippers at home is a wonderful way to keep your feet warm, clean, and comfortable—particularly on hard floors or during the colder months. Onaie slippers, made from natural materials like sheepskin and wool, offer gentle support while helping to regulate temperature. They also help protect your feet from dust, cold surfaces, and minor knocks, making them a practical and cosy choice for everyday indoor wear.
Do you make slippers for men?
At the moment, our collection includes only a small selection of men's slippers, as the majority of our customers are women. However, we’re always listening to feedback and exploring ways to expand our range in the future. In the meantime, some of our simpler, unisex styles may be suitable for men depending on size and fit.
Do you make slippers only for women?
At Onaie, we primarily focus on creating beautifully handcrafted sheepskin slippers for women, made by women. Our designs are thoughtfully created with women’s comfort and style in mind. However, we believe everyone deserves warm, cosy feet – and we’re always exploring ways to expand our range to suit a wider audience.
How long do slippers last?
With proper care, your Onaie slippers should last you for many years. They are made using high-quality natural materials and traditional handcrafting techniques, which contribute to their durability. Due to the handmade nature of our products, we offer a 6-month warranty for your peace of mind. To help extend their lifespan, we recommend wearing them indoors and following our care guidelines.
How are slippers made?
Each pair of Onaie slippers is lovingly handcrafted in Poland by skilled artisans using traditional techniques that have been passed down through generations. We use high-quality natural materials such as sheepskin, wool, and cowhide, all carefully chosen for their comfort, durability, and sustainability. From cutting and stitching to shaping and finishing, every step is carried out by hand, ensuring that each pair is unique and made with the utmost care.
Are slippers good for your feet?
Yes, high-quality slippers can be beneficial for your feet, especially when worn indoors. Our slippers are crafted from natural, breathable materials such as sheepskin and wool, which help regulate temperature and provide gentle cushioning. The soft support helps relieve pressure on the feet, while the enclosed design keeps them warm and comfortable. However, it’s important to choose a style that suits your foot shape and needs, for example, those requiring more structure may prefer a style with a firmer sole.
How should slippers fit?
Slippers should fit snugly but comfortably, offering gentle support without feeling tight or restrictive. Onaie slippers are made from natural materials like sheepskin, leather and wool, which will soften and mould to the shape of your feet over time. When trying on a new pair, your toes should not feel cramped, and your heel should sit securely without slipping. If you're between sizes, we generally recommend sizing up for the best fit.
Can slippers be gifted?
Absolutely, Onaie slippers make a thoughtful and cosy gift for any occasion. Beautifully handcrafted and made with natural materials, they’re perfect for birthdays, Christmas, or simply as a treat for someone special. If you're unsure about sizing or style, a gift card is also a lovely option to let them choose their favourite pair.
Can slippers be worn outside?
Not all Onaie slippers are suitable for outdoor use. Styles such as our Light Brown Slipper Boots and Heritage Slippers feature a durable hard sole, making them appropriate for light use outdoors. However, our standard sheepskin slippers are designed primarily for indoor wear, as their cowhide soles are soft and will naturally become more supple over time. To preserve their shape and longevity, we recommend wearing these styles indoors only.
Can i put slippers in the dryer?
We kindly advise against putting your Onaie slippers in the dryer, as the heat can shrink, warp, or otherwise damage the natural materials. For best results, please allow your slippers to air dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct sunlight or radiators.
